RULES & DETAILS

  • All players on your team must be within the appropriate DUPR skill range. If someone on your team doesn’t have a DUPR then they automatically are considered equal to the highest DUPR score of another player on the team.
    • 3.0: Max 3.49, team cumulative not to exceed 13.5.
    • 3.5: Max 3.99, team cumulative not to exceed 15.5.
    • 4.0: Max 4.49, team cumulative not to exceed 17.5.
    • 4.5: Max 4.99, team cumulative not to exceed 19.5.
    • 5.0: Open.
  • All teams consist of 4 players.
  • All scores will report to DUPR, except on Rotational Doubles Tie-Breakers.
  • Coin Toss: A coin toss is initiated to begin play. Whomever wins the toss gets 1st pick of 3 options. The loser of the toss gets 2nd pick, and the winner picks 3rd:
    • Option 1: Pick to ACT or REACT for Mixed Doubles Matchups.
    • Option 2: Start Serve or Start Return
    • Option 3: Pick a starting side.
  • The loser of the opening toss gets the privilege of first pick in the case of a tie-breaker. Teams select from the same 3 options above for the tie-breaker.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • All games to 21, win by 2, cap at 23. Leading team freezes on game point and the trailing team freezes if it reaches 19. ALL RALLY SCORING.
  • With a max of 9 Teams per division, every team will be grouped into pools of 3 and play the other 2 teams once each. Then top teams will advance to bracket playoffs.
  • 1 Timeout per team, per game. Stacking is not allowed. To switch sides, you must call a timeout, wait for an opponent timeout or switch at the turn on 11.
  • After pool play, top teams will be ranked and placed into the semifinals and finals. Tie-breakers are determined by head to head (2-way tie) and point differential (3-way tie).
  • Each match consists of 4 doubles games to 21 (2 games in 2 rounds). You must play with a different member of your team in each game.
  • After the 4 games are played, if the game score is 2-2, then you will settle it with 1 rotational doubles tie-breaker in the same format to 21 win by 2.
  • Rotational tie-breakers assign players 1-4 and every 4 points scored will initiate a rotation in order of 1-4 until a team wins to 21 by 2 with no cap.

For reference, this is similar to the MLP (Major League Pickleball) format of rally scoring. Instead of playing singles in tie-breakers, you’ll play rotational doubles.
